School Age Sessions

Children of all ages benefit from our after school and our lunch & learn sessions which focus on building social & emotional resiliency.

For kids 7-12. Meeting House is a time to join together in an age appropriate community to socialize, have fun and grow together.  Zoom and in -person sessions are led by professionals along with teaching artists and peer role models. Our elementary age after-school sessions provide a focus to build social skills and emotional resiliency during which time we play, make friends, and strengthen community relationships. We begin each session with a warm-up experience, followed by skill-building activities, reflection and a farewell wrap-up. We gently guide a program of activities to help children Model, Practice, Reinforce & Generalize valuable social skills that will help them more successfully navigate their life’s journey.

The focus of this after school program is on social and emotional development:
Flexibility & Resilience • Pride & Self-Esteem • Empathy & Compassion • Verbal & Non-Verbal • Conversation Skills • Developing Friendships • Self-Awareness & Self-Regulation • Understanding Emotions


Facilitated Playdate — In Person Sessions

$150 per session
Fridays, 2:30 - 3:30, 3:30 - 4:30 and 4:30 - 5:30

Parenting Support Group

Informative social/emotional adult discussions around reflection, awareness, understanding and change.

Professional Consultation

We also offer opportunities for further social-emotional support through private consultation with one of our experienced team members.

Our Afterschool Team

  • For the past five years, he has been the clinical social worker and the Director of Teen Programming at The Meeting House. He is a graduate of New York University with a Masters in Social Work, and also trained at The Educational Alliance, the 14th St Y and the Jewish Board for Children and Family Service. Channeling his own experiences and challenges throughout college he brings a unique lens to his work with this population. Steven has continued to help us expand our scope and outreach. He continues to transform our platform to include more peer role models as well educate and train students from high school, college and graduate school in a direct service capacity. He runs weekly groups with our afterschool, teen and college populations in concert with a creative and diverse professional team of artists, educators and therapists at our new Meeting House East space. He also supervises our Lunch and Learn Program in partnership with Thurgood Marshall Academy Lower School where we serve K-5 in a school wide, multiple day a week culturally responsive SEL marriage of minds.
